Autism: An Alternative Approach
At the Center for Pediatric Integrative Medicine we see many children with autism. Dr. Newmark believes that every child with autism is a unique individual, and no 'cookie cutter' or one size fits all autism approach is adequate. Each child needs to be looked at as an individual, no matter what the diagnosis, and then a specific plan can be developed.
Children with autism can be treated and can improve tremendously, if given the tools and the correct interventions.
Our alternative, integrative approach to autism involves working with nutrition, and investigating the possibility of food sensitivities. Other alternative autism treatments include using specific nutritional supplements such as multivitamins, probiotics, and Omega-3 fatty acids. We encourage behavioral therapies such as ABA or Floortime as part of our alternative approach to autism.
